The aim of the integration courses is to enable migrants to navigate everyday life and participate in German society. In our institution, the general integration course comprises 600 teaching units.

The courses are modular. Depending on prior knowledge, it is possible to enter the appropriate module. All courses consist of the aforementioned language course and an orientation course (100 teaching units). The following topics are covered:

  • Politics in Democracy
  • History and Responsibility
  • People and Society

All integration courses conclude with the „Deutschtest für Zuwanderer“ (DTZ) and the „Leben in Deutschland“ test.

General Integration Course

  • total of 600 teaching units (approx. 6 months)
  • 1 level = 100 teaching units (approx. 1 month)
  • individual entry possible monthly depending on level

Final Exam:
German Test for Immigrants A2/B1 (g.a.s.t. DTZ)

Orientation Course

  • total of 100 teaching units (approx. 1 month)
  • German legal system
  • Knowledge of politics, society, and history

Final Test:
Test „Leben in Deutschland“ (LiD) / Naturalization Test

  • Passport or ID card
  • Registration certificate (registration from the Citizens‘ Office)

If available:

  • Residence permit and personal identification number from the Federal Office
  • Obligation or authorization from the Integration Center
  • Late repatriates need a certificate from the Federal Office of Administration
